LUTHER LYNN Mrs. Luther Lynn died at her home in Elk City, about noon Saturday after an illness of only a day and a half of Spanish influenza which terminated in pneumonia. Her death was indeed a shock to neighbors and friends, for she had always been the picture of health, and it seemed that there were many years ahead for her. Mrs. Lynn was formerly Miss Zula Wisdom, and was the daughter of J. W. Wisdom of Norman, formerly of Elk City. She was twenty-seven years of age - just the age of her mother when she died leaving two small girls, Zula and Lena. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn had recently purchased the Sandin property near the compress and having been quite successful in a financial way, were looking forward to enjoy life. She was devoted to the interests of her home, and many remarked that they had never seen a more devoted family. She was of a happy sunny disposition and her presence was an inspiration to others. Those left to mourn her departure will retain forever as a great legacy, the remembrance of her great love. Her husband and two little sons are left, the boys being six and eight years of age. Mr. Lynn and one of the boys have been very ill, and funeral arrangements are deferred until they are better. Until this the body of Mrs. Lynn is in the Grubitz undertaking parlors. Her father and sister reached here Saturday. Great sympathy is expressed for the bereaved family. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
