All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* MALOY, HATTIE (8 Sep 1927, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): MALOY The many friends of Mrs. Harry Maloy will be shocked to hear of her death, which occurred Tuesday, August 25, at a local hospital, where she had been taken Tuesday. Mrs. Maloy, or "Aunt Hat," as she was so lovingly called by all, had been in poor health for some time, but few knew it. She was stricken with hemorrhages Tuesday and never rallied from the effects. Mrs. Maloy was a devout member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and was first and foremost in all of its activities, and gave ungrudgingly of her strength and means. She was loved by all who knew her, young and old alike. She was an honorary member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, who attended her funeral in a body. Hattie Talbot Maloy was born in Cortland, Ohio, October 7, 1879. She was married to Harry A. Maloy in Pittsburgh, Penn., in 1899. They came west and located in Elk City fourteen years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Harry Maloy, who is associated with the Grubitz & Son Mortuary, her little son, Gene, two sisters, Mrs. Carl Coffman, and Mrs. Ward Mann, of Warren, Ohio, and two nephews, Tod and Jack Casey. Funeral services were held Monday, August 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Rev. Father Geerhart officiating.
