MASSEY, CARROL CUSTER
(9 Dec 1920, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Carrol Custer Massey; Born Nov. 26, 1920; Died Dec. 7, 1920
Baby Carroll Massey, the precious baby son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Massey,
died Monday after a short illness.  The news came as a shock to many
friends who had not learned of the illness of the little one.  The parents
and grandparents were grief stricken for the baby was so very precious to
them, and so many plans had been made for his future.  All Elk City were
so interested in the baby for the parents had grown up in our home town
and were known to all.  Their joy in the baby's arrival was shared by all,
as also their sorrow at his death.
Funeral services were held at the home of J. Custer Tuesday afternoon,
Rev. Hamilton speaking words of comfort to the bereaved ones.  Having
passed through a similar experience he knew the sorrow, yet he could also
tell of the nearness of heaven by having a little treasure there.
Interment was made in Fairlawn cemetery, under direction of Grubitz & Son.
 Deepest sympathy is extended to the grief stricken parents and
grandparents.

DIED.  Last Monday afternoon Carroll Custer, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C.
Massey.  The baby was but 11 days old, being born November 26 and dying
Dec. 6.  This was their first baby.

To our friends and neighbors who were so kind and helpful during the late
bereavement of the father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Massey, in the
death of their baby son, Carroll Custer, we wish to express our heartfelt
thanks.
