(5 May 1925, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): MARGARET M. MAYBERRY. Mrs. Margaret M. Mayberry, nee Edgar, was born in Hart county, Ky, Nov. 30th, 1838, and died at the home of her son, J. W. Mayberry, near Canute, April 30th, 1925, age 86 years and 5 months. She was converted and joined the Methodist church at the age of 21 and remained a faithful member until her death. She was married to John H. Mayberry, Dec. 3rd, 1874, who preceeded her to the glory world. To this union were born three children, they are: Mrs. Neola Blanche Wall, of Maxwell, N. Mexico; John R. Mayberry, of Reddeer, Canada, and James W. Mayberry of Canute, Okla. Mrs. Mayberry was the last one of sixteen children to be called to her eternal home. Besides the children she leaves twelve grand children, one great grand child, many other precious relatives and a host of friends to mourn her death. "Grandma" as she was commonly called, lived a constant Christian life, she suffered much, but was always cheerful and happy. She loved the church and the services and always was there when she was able. She was charitable and kind, a good wife and mother, and was hospitable in her home. She suffered with those that suffered, wept with those that wept. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. W. Newman of Canute church and her remains were laid to rest in the Canute cemetery to await the Judgment morning. Rev. J. W.
