MAYS, ABRAHAM
(15 Oct 1903, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Last Tuesday night our noble citizen Abraham Mays, father of J. A. Mays,
quietly passed away.  He was 87 years old and was born in Kentucky, but
lived most of his life in Jefferson, Tex., where he was Tyler of the
Masonic Lodge for 30 year.  He has been a prominent Mason for 50 years,
and is more than entitled to a room in the Spiritual Manson of which he
has so faithfully helped to build without tools of metal.  His remains
were escorted to the train on Wednesday morning by the Masonic fraternity
of Elk and shipped to Jefferson, Tex., where it will be received and
interred by his old lodge, who will give all respect and honor due the
pure and faithful citizen.
