All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* MC CLOUD, OSCAR (22 May 1925, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Oscar McCloud was born April 27, 1854, in the state of Indiana, and died near Elk City, Oklahoma, May 19, 1925. He was married to Maria Patterson, Oct. 7, 1877, at Princeton, Mo. To this union were born ten children, four of which have preceeded him to their heavenly home. Those living are: Charles McCloud, of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Emma Baxter, Mrs. Edna Baxter, Mrs. Lena Clark, Mrs. Jessie Weatherly, and Mrs. Gertie Weatherly, all of Elk City, Okla. All the children being at his bedside during his illness except his son, Charles, who was unable to come because of illness. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving companion, six children, twenty-three grand children, five great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers and a host of friends. Oscar McCloud was 71 years and 23 days old. (29 May 1925, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Our community was deeply grieved over the critical illness and death of Mr. Oscar McCloud who was born April 27th, 1854, and died May 19th, 1925. Age 71 years, 22 (sic) days old. He had been a faithful member of the Church of Christ for many years and every Sunday found him at church if he was able to be up and out any. Funeral services were held at home Wednesday and he was laid to rest in our silent city near his home. Rev. Musgrove had charge of the services.
