T. McDonald J. T. McDonald was born in Grayson county, Texas, October 7, 1872; was married to Miss Hattie Stephens, February 9, 1892; died at his home in this city March 14, 1913. Mr. McDonald had been a resident of Oklahoma for 15 years, most of the time living near Elk City. Three years ago he moved with his family to this place and was employed in the grocery department of Herring & Young up to the time he was stricken with the disease that caused his death. Early in the fall, last year he was taken sick and after consultation with the home physicians and securing no benefits, an Oklahoma City specialist was called in and upon examination he found that the disease - cancer of the bowels - had developed so far that an operation would not stop the progress of the disease. Since that time the sufferer has rallied several times and been able to ride out, but the past few months he had grown weaker and weaker. He is survived by his wife and five children, five brothers and six sisters, father and mother. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ, of which he was a member, Saturday afternoon, conducted by Elder Dawson, of the Christian church. Interment at the city cemetery. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
