City officials will go in a body to Mangum tomorrow afternoon to attend the funeral of David Calvin McGrady, 41, son of Commissioner W. H. McGrady of this city, it was learned today. Mr. McGrady died in a Mangum hospital last night after suffering a heart attack. He was first stricken two weeks ago and was left in a weakened condition which lingered until it developed into another attack which resulted in his death. For several years prior to moving to Mangum the younger Mr. McGrady was a resident of this city. He was married to Miss Edith Brunson, an Elk City girl, here Feb. 6, 1914. Mr. McGrady was born in Silley, Neb., on Sept. 3, 1889. He moved with his parents to Oklahoma, in 1894, and had been a resident of this state since. During the past 18 years Mr. McGrady was an employe of the Missouri, Kansas and Texas railroad company, working on the line that connects Mangum with Texas. He is a Thirty-second Degree Mason and a Shriner. Surviving Mr. McGrady are his widow and his son, David Calvin, Jr., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McGrady and a brother Charles McGrady, all of this city. Services are to be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Presbyterian church at Mangum with Rev. Ben J. Salyer officiating.
