All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* MC LERRAN, FRED (14 Oct 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): RITES READ FOR M'LERRAN YOUTH Funeral services for Fred McLerran, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. McLerran, of near Carter, were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Church of Christ in Carter, with Rev. R. Taylor officiating. Fred had suffered with a tumor of the knee for the past year, which was the result of an injury received when he fell on gravel. For a time he was able to walk with the use of crutches. Specialists to whom the boy was taken pronounced the case extremely rare. He died Monday at the home of his parents, one mile east of Carter. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. McLerran, eight brothers and sisters survive, six of whom live at home. They are: Miss Velda, Miss Opal, Miss Amanda, Theo. Amos, Jo, Melvin and Mrs. Hilda Cason, of Gainesville, Texas. Interment was made in the Carter Cemetery, Killough-Hullum was in charge of arrangements.
