(23 May 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Former friends were saddened this week to hear of the death of Mrs. W. D. Miller at her home in Elk City on May 19, after an illness of seven months. Funeral services were held in Elk City Thursday afternoon at 3:00 at the Seven Day Adventist church. Rev. Ray Hickman officiated at the services. Mr. and Mrs. Miller came to Elk City 29 years ago and lived here until about 5 years past when they moved to Cushing. She was back two and one-half weeks before her death occurred. She was converted into the Methodist church at the age of 14 but has adhered to the Seven Day Adventist church faith for the past 35 years. She was born in Fannin county, Georgia, on December 20, 1872 and died at the age of 56 years and five months. She was married to W. D. Miller August 11, 1889 at Cartersville, Georgia. Six children were born to this union. The children are: Arthur Miller, Okmulgee; Mrs. Edith Chiesa, Cushing; Winifred Miller, Hot Springs, Arkansas; Luther Miller, Milliken, Colorado; Mrs. Naomi Stiers, Elk City, and Mrs. Novia Lower, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Relatives who attended her funeral besides the children were: Mrs. Arthur Miller and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Howeld Lindsey and son of Beaver, Willie Mathis of Beaver, Harold McCay of Tulsa, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller of Borger, W. C. McCay of Weatherford, Mr. and Mrs. Windom Gardiner and son, Mrs. O. E. Bradley and children of Cherokee and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gardiner and Dora and Harry Gardiner of Weatherford. Sisters and brothers living are: W. C. McCay, Weatherford, Susie Gardiner, Weatherford, Bessie I. Bear of Louisville, Kentucky, and T. H. McCay, Tulsa. Mary E. Miller Mary E. Miller was born in Georgia, December 20, 1872, died at Elk City May 19, 1929, at the age of 56 years, 4 months, 29 days. Funeral services were held at the Seven Day Adventist Church Thursday, May 23, 1929, at 3 p.m., Rev. Ray Hickman officiating. Interment in Fairlawn cemetery.
