(8 Feb 1923, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): UNCLE JIMMY MILLER DEAD. It is with deep sorrow the News Democrat family learns of the death of Uncle Jimmy Miller, of Berlin. He and his wife had the hotel there for years and they were known to all the old timers. We have known him about twenty-two years and held him in highest esteem. We scarcely ever drove through Berlin but we would stop a while and visit with he and his wife. We will miss him, as will his host of friends, and our deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family. James M. Miller was born in Giles county, Tenn., Feb. 24th, 1841. Died Feb. 7, 1923. Aged 81 years, 11 months and 7 days. Married to Edna E. Flowers, July 29th, 1860. To this union eight boys and three girls were born. He leaves a wife, five sons, three daughters, great grand-children and many friends to mourn his death. The sons are C. S. Miller, Mayfield, Oklahoma; Jake M. Miller, Spearman, Texas; G. A. Miller, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Berry Miller, Berlin, Oklahoma; E. L. Miller, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The daughters are Mrs. Buckelew, Berlin, Oklahoma; Mrs. Ida Grice, Gainsville, Texas and Mrs. Edna Moore, Canyon, Texas. All the children were at the bedside of their father before his death except one daughter, Mrs. Edna Moore of Canyon, Texas. Grandpa Miller located in Berlin in 1899. He united with the Missionary Baptist church when a young man. In recent years has been more fully consecrated to the service of the Lord.
