(Nov 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
MRS. M. A. MONK
Mrs. M. A. Monk was born in the state of Missouri in 1853.  She departed
from this life November 11, 1929, at the age of 76 years.
She was converted in youth and lived a christian life.
Mrs. Monk was married to John Cook Monk in July 1875 and to this union was
born 10 children, 4 of which died in infancy, 2 sons and her husband died
some years ago.
She leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn her departure.  She
was laid to rest in the Lone Oak Cemetery.
