(31 Jan 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Funeral services were held Sunday, January 27, for William S. Moore, who died January 24, 1929, at Snyder, Oklahoma. Interment was made at Fairlawn cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. H. W. Shirley, assisted by Robert L. Cooper of the First Baptist church. Mr. Moore formerly lived near Elk City for a period of twelve years and he and his family were well known in the community. His wife, Frances Elizabeth Reed, died in Elk City on May 13, 1901. Mr. Moore was married to Mary C. Albright on June 10, 1910, and lived the remainder of his live in Snyder, Oklahoma. William S. Moore was born January 8, 1849, in North Carolina. He moved with his parents when a small child to Linn county, Missouri. In 1869 he married Miss Francis Elizabeth Reed. To this union were born four children, Minnie Mae and Willie, who died when small children; Charles S. Moore, who died in Elk City, June 3, 1928, and E. L. Moore, who lives near Elk City. Mr. Moore was a member of the Baptist church at the time of his death and had adhered to this faith for fifteen years preceding it. Surviving relatives were Mrs. Mary C. Moore of Snyder; E. L. Moore, who lives near Elk City; J. F. Reed of Sandstone and Fred Albright, stepson of Snyder, besides the grandchildren.
