ALBERT MYERS After an illness of three months, Mrs. Dovie Myers, wife of Albert Myers of Sweetwater, passed away at Elk City Monday, June 16th, aged 43 years, 3 months and 6 days. She had been here for several months taking treatment and underwent an operation five weeks ago since which time she made a valiant fight to live, and everything possible was done for her. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Carman officiating. A large number of relatives and friends came from Sweetwater to attend the funeral, and show their love and respect for loved friend and neighbor. Interment was made in Fairlawn cemetery. She was born near Decatur, Wise County, Texas. Her parents were among the oldest settlers in Texas. After her marriage to Mr. Myers they lived in Montague County, Texas, coming to Sweetwater, Oklahoma, twenty-two years ago. She joined the Church of Christ in 1901, soon after her marriage, and was ever a faithful member and consistent christian. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Myers, one daughter being married and is now Mrs. W. E. Turner. Two boys and four girls are left in the home, the youngest child being three months old. She leaves four brothers and three sisters. One brother, J. W. Marlett and wife and daughter came here to attend the funeral.
