(14 Feb 1924, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
W. H. NANCE DEAD
W. H. Nance, an old settler in this county, died at the home of his son
Avery, near Doxey, Monday morning, aged 68 years.  He was a preacher and
loved by a host of friends, for he was a good man and a true christian.
His funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, and interment made in the Merritt
cemetery.  He was a member of the Elk City A.F. & A.M., and a number of
the members attended the funeral.
He leaves four children, Ed and Avery Nance, and Mrs. Lizzie Harris of
this community and Hort Nance of Oklahoma City.
