All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ NEELY, ISAAC (15 Nov 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): NEELY FUNERAL HELD AT HAMMON SAYRE, Nov. 15. - Isaac Neely, of Hammon, died suddenly at the residence of his son, W. T. Neely, on North Fourth street here Thursday evening from an attack of heart failure. He had been in Sayre for a few days visiting his son and was apparently feeling well as usual when death came. Mr. Neely was born March 4, 1843, in New York. He came to Oklahoma and has lived at Hammon for some time. Mr. Neely was a federal soldier. Funeral services were held at the family residence with Rev. Bates, of Hammon, in charge. Interment was made at the Doxey-Sayre cemetery. Mr. Neely is survived by several sons and daughters. (16 Nov 1930, Sunday, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Funeral Friday For Aged Pioneer Funeral services were held for Isaac N. Neely, a Civil war veteran, at the family home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Gales, officiated for the service. Neely died suddenly at the home on north fourth street early Thursday morning, November 13. He is survived by his aged wife, five sons and three daughters. He was 87 years old at the time of his death. Interment was made in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery. The Sayre post of the American Legion was in charge of the services at the grave. This is the first time that the local Legion Post has ever furnished the services at a funeral.
