NEWCOMER, LAVERNE
(Oct 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
NEWCOMER RITES READ AT LEEDEY.
Funeral services were held for Laverne M. Newcomer, 23, of Leedey, Monday
afternoon at the First Methodist Episcopal church, at that place.
Mr. Newcomer was reared near Leedey, having come there with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Newcomer, when he was three years of age.  He was born
at Oceola, Nebraska, August 29, 1907.  He was married to Miss Helen
Burris, January 20, 1922.
Surviving Mr. Newcomer are his widow, Mrs. Newcomer and a small daughter,
his parents and four brothers and five sisters.
Interment was made in the Red Star cemetery (Roger Mills County),
Killough-Hullum, funeral directors, were in charge.
