All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ NICHOLS, MARIE MADELINE (10 Mar 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): NICHOLS FUNERAL IS HELD TODAY Blood Poisoning of Throat Is Fatal to City Girl; Ill 12 Days. Funeral services for Miss Marie Madeline Nichols were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon in the First Presbyterian church, with the pastor, Rev. J. A. Tracy, officiating. Miss Nichols was born here September 22, 1908, and attended the Elk City public schools. For the past two and a half years she has been connected with the Johnson Cleaning works. She became ill with tonsilitis twelve days ago and was taken to a local hospital six days ago with blood-poisoning of the throat. She died last evening at six o'clock. Mrs. Nichols, mother of Miss Nichols, died November 25, 1928. Surviving Miss Nichols are her father, Orick Nichols, of Liberal, Kans., who arrived here last evening, three sisters and five brothers, Miss Hallie Nichols, Mrs. Beulah Tabor and Robert Nichols of this city and Fred Nichols of Pampa, Tex., Ross Nichols and R. O. Nichols of Sacramento, Calif., and Kern Nichols of Los Angeles, California. Interment was made in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
