ORGAIN, HORACE KIMBLE
(5 May 1927, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
HORACE KIMBLE ORGAIN
The death angel was the caller who visited at Canute, Oklahoma, last 
Friday, the 29th, and called for Father Orgain, who was a resident of 
that place.
Mr. Orgain was born November 7, 1850, in McLemoxville, Tennessee.  In 
1852 he moved to Texas with his parents.  On November 10, 1875, he was 
married to Miss Lenora Easterwood.  To this union were born five children, 
three boys and two girls, all of whom are living.  They are R. B. Orgain, 
Moorewood, Oklahoma; M. D. Orgain, Canute, Oklahoma; E. R. Orgain, Canute, 
Oklahoma; Mrs. J. C. Spears, Peach Springs, Arizona; Mrs. W. G. Cotter, 
Weatherford, Oklahoma.
He was converted in August 1897 and the Good Lord who knows all things 
called him to the work of the ministry.  The following twenty-five years 
of his life were devoted to that work.
He leaves behind him a vacant chair, there is a still voice, but as David 
said about his son, we can't bring him back, but we can go to him.  We that 
are left behind to fight the storms of life, have an opportunity of going 
to him, in the world that knows no death, where we know as we are known, 
where the flowers are blooming and our friendship will never cease.  
We pray the Good Lord to bless and comfort the bereaved ones during this 
dark hour, especially for "Mother," the wife of the deceased.
The funeral was held at the home Sunday, May 1, with Rev. W. R. McClure, 
pastor of the Church of the Nazarine at Canute, officiating.  There was 
a large crowd attending the services.  He was laid to rest in the Canute 
Cemetery (Washita County).
