Died at Amarillo, Texas, August 14, 1929. Age 29 years, 4 months and 7 days. Funeral services were held at the Holiness church at Carter, August 16, at 3 p.m. Medford brothers officiating. Interment in the Carter cemetery. Gentry-Killough, funeral directors, in charge. (24 Aug 1929, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Allie Parkie (sic) was born at Waynette, Oklahoma, April 7, 1900. She met death at Amarillo, Texas, August 14, 1929. She was a christian, having accepted Christ and uniting with the Methodist Church at the age of 13. She leaves to mourn her going a daughter, Naoma Lee, 11 years of age, her mother, three brothers, two sisters and a host of friends. She was laid to rest in the Carter Cemetery, Friday the 16th, 1929. Relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John A. Miller of Oklahoma City. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Miller of Atoka, Oklahoma, Mr. Willie Miller of Midland, Texas, Mrs. Cecil Montgomery of Kansas City, Missouri, and many other relatives and friends from Elk City and Mangum.
