F. Patterson, Wednesday at 8:35 p.m., July 11, 1906. Aged 78 years and 19 days. Funeral services were conducted by Elder J. C. Howard of the Christian church at Grandview school house July 13, 1906, after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Grandview cemetery by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and sorrowing relatives. Edward Patterson was born in the county of Cavin Ireland in 1828, removed to the city of Philadelphia, Penn., in 1848, was united in marriage to Susan Wadsworth in 1850, to this union were added 11 children, eight of which together with the widow and mother survive him and lament his demise. He united with the Christian church in March 1886 and has been an earnest devoted servant to the cause of his Master till his demise. He was loved and respected by all who knew him, his was a life shaped by the Golden Rule. To the bereaved widow and children we would say this good and noble mans death means only the passing from this mortal world of woe and disappointments to his reward from his Master (eternal joy and happiness) so weep not but look up and try to duplicate his noble example and go to him, he can not come to you but you by following his godlike example can go to him. We extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved family and friends. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
