(4 Jul 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF H. B. PATTERSON H. B. Patterson, who was a former citizen of Beckham County, living seven miles west and one mile south of Elk City, died Friday, June 21st, 1918, age 61 years. Deceased was born in West Virginia, later moving to Kansas City, Mo., where he was livestock commissioner and where afterwards he was a real estate dealer. Being in poor health he came to Oklahoma. After two and a half years of suffering he died at the Cancer Sanitarium in Oklahoma City. The remains were taken to Missouri for burial. He is survived by his wife, and adopted son, Alfred Burnett, who was taken in the home at the age of three years. Mrs. Patterson will make her home in Garnett, Kansas, where her sister lives.
