All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ PAXSON, ELLIS (25 Oct 1923, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF FATHER Mrs. Asa Bell received a telephone message that her father, Ellis Paxson had died very suddenly at the home of her sister, Mrs. Stubblefield, at Tipton, Monday night. Mr. Paxson had been ill for a number of months, suffering from enlargement of the heart and bedfast for the past ten days, but seemed much improved and on the day of his death his daughter was getting the house warm so that he might sit up in a chair for a short time. The body was sent to Springfield, Mo., the old home, for burial. Mrs. Bell left Tuesday night for that place. (1 Nov 1923, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): VISITING DAUGHTER, PROMINENT MISSOURI BUSINESS MAN DIES. (From Frederick (Okla.) Leader. Tipton. October 23. - After having traveled most of the plains states from Mexico to Canada the past summer for the benefit of his health, and apparently much improved by the outing, Ellis Paxson, age 67, of Springfield, Missouri, was stricken ill when the rains started here about two weeks ago and died of heart failure at 9:12 o'clock here last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Stubblefield. In his recent automobile tour he was accompanied by his eldest son, Claude F., also a resident of Springfield. With Mr. and Mrs. Stubblefield he will leave this evening with the body, which will be interred at Springfield. Mrs. Paxson, wife of the decedent, died last December 26th, at Springfield. He leaves to mourn his passing six children, Mrs. Stubblefield of this place, Claude F., of Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. A. W. Bell of Elk City, C. E. of Dallas, Texas, Ralph of Augustus, Kansas, and Mrs. T. C. Pippin of Columbia, Missouri.
