Charley Payne Rites Set Here for Friday.
Services for Charley Payne, 80 year old retired farmer of 620 W. Ave. C, 
will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Elk City Methodist church with Rev.
Louie Marsh, pastor, officiating.
Mr. Payne was born March 10, 1876, in Hamilton County, Tex., and died at
his home here Wednesday Oct. 10, from a heart attack after an illness of
two years.
He was married to Sarah Lou Frama in 1897 at Brownsville, Tex., and she
preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 1952.  He was married a second time to
Mrs. Ada Gilbow in Elk City on Dec. 18, 1953.
He filed on a farm 3 ½ miles north of Carter in 1898 and had been a
resident of Elk City for the past 11 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Payne, home address; four sisters and
three brothers.  He was preceded in death by two sons and his first wife.
Burial will be in the Carter cemetery with Martin-Hullum funeral home
directing arrangements.
