(6 Apr, 1916, Thursday, Elk City Leader, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Irby O. Phillips, aged 28, son of Mrs. Charles Russell, died at the home of his mother here Tuesday, after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon by George Patterson, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Fairlawn cemetery. The floral offerings were beautiful, especially those furnished by the Royal Neighbors, of which order the mother of the deceased is a member. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Chandler & Robinson. (6 Apr, 1916, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF IRBY O. PHILLIPS Irby O. Phillips, son of Mrs. Chas. Russell, died Tuesday morning after an illness of several months of tubercolosis (sic) of the laryngael. The deceased, who was single, was born in Texas and was 28 years of age. He had lived here a number of years.
