(28 May 1914, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Notah M. Picklesimon died at the residence of Douglas Guthrie in Elk City, Saturday, May 23. Deceased leaves a husband, one son and one daughter, together with a number of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. The remains were taken to Hammon for burial. (Red Hill Cemetery, Roger Mills County.) OBITUARY. At the home of Mrs. J. D. Guthrie, Saturday, May 23rd at 3:30 a.m., Mrs. Dolph Picklesimon aged 35 years, 1 month and 11 days, passed to her reward after a lingering illness of ten weeks. An operation was performed on Mrs. Picklesimon four weeks ago in which serious complications set in which caused her death. Moadie M. Armstrong, nee Picklesimon, was born April 24th, 1879 in Stevens county, Texas. She was married to Dolph Picklesimon sixteen years ago and to this union two children were born, Tommy, age 11 years and Monte Joe, age 9 years. Mrs. Picklesimon was a Methodist by faith having united with the church at the age of 14 years and lived and died a christian woman. Her last message on earth was to tell her father that she died a christian. She kissed her husband, children, brother and aged father goodbye and bid them to live so as to meet her in heaven and asked her husband never to drink any more or speak bad language before her children. She prayed to live to see all the relatives and God answered her and allowed her to bid them all goodbye except a brother and sister who did not get here until too late. She pleaded all day and night for that brother. At one o'clock on Friday, Mrs. Picklesimon saw a heavenly vision in which she saw her dear angel mother who has been dead since she was a little girl. Drs. White and Levi stayed with her until the very last and did all that could be done for her on this earth. After talking to them all she went to sleep and apparently rested until death came. She was laid to rest in the Hammon (Red Hill) cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Carron. Mrs. Pick as she was called by her friends was loved and respected by every body and we know that she has gone to rest in that "pretty place" that she saw over there. May we all be prepared to meet her in that place and our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved family, aged father, brothers and sisters and may God bless each and every one of them and may God strengthen them and prepare them to meet her in that "pretty place." Mrs. D. Y. Stearns. Mrs. J. D. Guthrie. Mrs. G. A. Johnson. Mrs. W. M.
