(7 Dec 1916, Thursday, Southwest News, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. J. W. Price of Sayre Died Wednesday Night Mrs. J. W. Price of Sayre died at the family home there Wednesday night at 8:30 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks with pneumonia. She is survived by her husband and a number of children and a number of relatives in this section, H. H. and W. J. Price of this city among the relatives. Funeral arrangements had not been completed at an early hour this morning, but the remains will be laid to rest in the Sayre cemetery. The family has many friends in this section who will sympathize with them in their bereavement. (14 Dec 1916, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Death of Mrs. Price. Mrs. Hattie J. Price, wife of J. W. Price, died at the family residence in this city Wednesday night, December 6th, after a short illness, and was buried Thursday afternoon at the Delhi cemetery. The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church. Rev. Tom Steele delivering the sermon both at the church and at the grave. A profusion of flowers expressed from Oklahoma City Thursday morning covered the casket. Mrs. Price was held in the highest esteem by a large circle of friends and her untimely death is mourned by all who knew her. She leaves four boys, the oldest being eleven years of age, to be cared for by her heart-broken husband.
