(10 Jul 1913, Thursday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): A Sad Death Mrs. L. L. Reed died at her home on North Madison street Sunday, age 36 years. She leaves a husband afflicted with epilepsy and unable to take care of himself. The family had only lived here a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Reed were often seen on the streets, he holding to her arm, seemingly entirely dependent and trusting as a little child. She apparently with no other purpose in life but to care for her companion. While the family were complete strangers here, yet when sickness and death entered the home they never lacked attention, neighbors came in and ministered to their every need. Miss Chance, of Tulsa, a sister of the deceased came over Tuesday night and accompanied the remains to Burden, Kansas, their old home for burial. Mrs. Ella Arculita of Solana, New Mexico, sister of Mr. Reed, came in on the train that bore the body away. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
