REED, MARY LEE
(17 Dec 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
COWHERDS GO TO LAST RITES
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Cowherd, of Canute, went to El Reno today to attend the
funeral of little Mary Lee Reed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Reed, of
that city.  Mary Lee, 17 months old, died yesterday of spinal meningitis.
Mr. Reed formerly was superintendent of schools at Canute and during part
of that time Mr. Cowherd was a member of the school board.  The two
families became intimately acquainted as a result, and when word was
received of the death of the Reed's daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Cowherd
arranged to go to the funeral.
