R. Pinkerton was called to Sweetwater last Thursday to nurse Mrs. Gertie Reeves who had a nervous collapse. She brought her back to the Tisdal Hospital, Sunday in a very serious condition. Mrs. Reeves has been teaching school near Sweetwater, and not being strong, the work was too much for her. MRS. GERTRUDE REEVES Mrs. Gertrude Reeves of Sweetwater, who has been ill for the past two weeks, was brought to a local hospital Sunday, where she died Monday. Her father Mr. Lesher, of Mayfield, came for her body Tuesday, and funeral services were held Wednesday, with burial in the Buffalo Cemetery. (21 Apr 1921, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Sweetwater Items: Mrs. Reeves who was very sick at last report, was taken to Elk City for treatment, Sunday, April 10th. On Tuesday the entire community was shocked to learn the sad news that she had passed away at that place on Monday nite. The body was taken back to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lesher, her parents, with whom she had made her home for several years. On Wednesday afternoon the last remains were laid to rest at the Buffalo Cemetery, beside that of her sister, Bonnie, who preceeded to the Great Beyond nearly four years. Rev. Bell of Erick preached the funeral sermon. Mrs. Reeves had been employed as teacher in the Excelsior and Wilson Schools for the last four years, and highly spoken of by all who knew her. The entire community extend condolence to the bereaved parents, her brother and two small sons. (28 Apr 1921, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Mr. Wayne Sesher (sic), son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lesher returned to Colorado, his home on Thursday a.m. train from Erick, having been here during the illness, death and burial of his sister, Mrs. Reeves. Thursday evening the community was shocked to learn of the death of Mr. W. H.
