(The Elk City Journal, Elk City, Beckham, Ok, 10 Nov 1938): Last rites for H. C. Reyburn, pioneer Beckham county farmer, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist church with Rev. George C. Hutto conducting the service. Mr. Reyburn died Sunday shortly after noon at his farm home a mile and one-half northeast of the city following an illness of about nine weeks. He was born at Columbus, Mo., July 3, 1862, and came to Oklahoma in 1898 and filed on a claim northeast of Elk City where he lived until his death. He was married December 9, 1900, to Miss Rosa Alvernie Fitzwater. Mr. Reyburn had been a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge since 1879. Survivors are his widow, one daughter and five sons, W. M. Reyburn, Elk City; Mrs. Margaret Conaster, Los Banos, Calif., Lee Reyburn and Ray Reyburn, all of Elk City. Other survivors are two brothers, Ray L. Reyburn, Sayre and Berry Reyburn, Shell City, Mo., and six grandchildren. Interment was in the Fairlawn cemetery.
