All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ REYBURN, ROSA (The Elk City Daily News, Elk City, Beckham, Ok, 10 July 1972): Rosa Reyburn Rites Tuesday. Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Reyburn of 319 S. Howard, who died in Community Hospital Saturday, will be conducted from the First Baptist church Tuesday, July 11th, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Bob Denny, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn cemetery. Mrs. Reyburn was born Dec. 5, 1880, in Virginia, near Roanoke, which is now included in a historical site. She was 91. She moved with her parents to Mellville, Mo., when she was two years of age, moving to Oklahoma in 1898. The family settled in the Pixlee community northeast of Elk City, where she was married to Henry Clay Reyburn Dec. 9, 1900. They established a home just east of Elk City, where she lived until some 12 years ago, when she moved to the house of her daughter, Margaret Conaster, where she has lived since. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 5, 1938, and by a son William H., who died Jan. 26, 1956. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Conester (sic) of Elk City; 4 sons, Lee of San Maria, Calif., James of Tulsa, Ray of Ft. Supply and Roy of Elk City; 5 grandchildren; 5 sisters, Mrs. Alice Deal of Elk City, Mrs. Hester Edgington of Amarillo, Mrs. Minnie Halterman of Loma Linda, Calif., Mrs. Grace Hammon of Lubbock, Tex., and Mrs. Lela Carmichael, Loma Linda, Calif. And, a brother, Jake Fitzwater, Hinkle, Calif. Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
