All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ ROBBINS, ELIZABETH (30 Jun 1927, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Elizabeth Parks Robbins passed away in Elk City June 27 (sic), 1927, aged 83 years, 11 months, 29 days. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m., Rev. Tracy and Rev. Webb officiating. Burial in Fairlawn Cemetery. Geo. R. Grubitz & Son in charge. Obituary: Elizabeth Parks Harmon was born at Cane Hill, Arkansas, June 27, 1843. She died at Elk City, Oklahoma, June 26, 1927, just one day short of 84 years of age. When she was in her third year, in 1845, the family moved to Texas, and lived at Blossom Prairie, 16 miles east of Paris. She was married to Daniel Robbins, of St. Joseph, Missouri, on August 24, 1865, with whom she lived happily until his death at Elk City September 23, 1918 - more than half a century. To this union were born three children, all surviving their parents. They are Mrs. T. H. Taylor of Spearman, Texas; Mrs. J. H. Parks of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Jesse A. Riley of Spearman, Texas. Mrs. Robbins has fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Betty Joe Ward of Elk City, making four generations of the family alive at the same time. Mr. and Mrs. Robbins moved to Belton, Texas, in 1875; then to Oklahoma in 1909, where they have made Elk City the family home for the last 18 years. Mrs. Robbins was converted in a meeting held at Belton, Texas, conducted by Rev. Wm. Penn, a noted preacher of that day and place, and joined the Presbyterian Church of Belton in 1882, transferring her membership to Elk City on June 25, 1922. Mrs. Robbins was initiated in the Order of the Eastern Star in 1860. She also was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Funeral services were held from her home on South Adams street Sunday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m., conducted by her pastor, Rev. John A. Tracy, assisted by Rev. E. C. Webb.
