S. Repass, at Grimes, last Friday morning, June 24th, after an illness of eight months. While friends and relatives knew her condition was serious, she was always so bright and hopeful ever greeting her friends and loved ones with a smile and a cheery word, always saying that she was better, so that they hoped and trusted that her life would be spared. On Friday morning she told them she felt a little strange, then with a look that seemed to see in the distance, said "I hear singing", and without a struggle peacefully went to sleep to wake no more in this world. In all her months of suffering she seemed to think she would recover and only the day before had sent word to her sister at Elk City to send up a wheeled chair, believing that she would be able to gain more strength if she had one. Funeral services were held at Grimes school house Saturday afternoon. Before leaving the home the choir sang a song and Rev. Davis led in prayer, then the pall bearers, composed of three of her school mates at Grimes; May Cox, Nelse and Carl Oleson and three of her students from Meridian school, Levi and John Fowler and Guy Kelly, carried the beautiful white casket covered so profusely with flowers to the school house where a large crowd had gathered to show their respect and esteem for this lovely young lady. Rev. Davis in giving tribute to Mrs. Roberson said the first link in the family home had been broken, she being the first child of Mr. and Mrs. Repass who had passed to the beyond. He spoke of the help Neva had been to that neighborhood since she moved there in 1908, how she had brightened the homes with her smile and her words of cheer. The interment was made in Dempsey cemetery (Roger Mills County), a large procession accompanying the body to its last resting place. Neva Repass was born September 23rd, 1894, in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, moved to Oklahoma with her parents in 1908. Was married to Jonas C. Roberson February 5th, 1920. She died June 24th, 1921, aged 26 years, 9 months and 1 day. Those left to mourn their loss is the husband, Jonas C. Roberson, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Repass, five sisters and three brothers, namely: Mrs. R. A. Mitchell of Clinton, Mrs. S. F. Lancaster, Driftwood, Oklahoma, Mrs. E. R. Walton, Grimes, Mrs. Bluford Turbyfill and Mrs. W. T. Parry, Elk City, R. A. Repass of Windham, Ohio, Ralph and Glenn Repass, Grimes, besides a large circle of friends. The deeply bereaved ones have the sincere sympathy of all in their deep sorrow, in which the family of the News-Democrat wishes to join, for we have known Neva since a little girl, and our hearts ache over the loss of this dear friend. Neva was one of Roger Mills successful teachers at the time of her marriage. She and her noble young husband seemed to have such a bright future before them, and they had started out with a view of making a happy home and were getting a good start in a financial way. A few years ago Neva assisted in the office of the Elk City Steam Laundry, where they remembered her with many beautiful flowers, and at her death sent a large bouquet. People were present from Sayre, Berlin, Sweetwater and other places. Mr. Repass, father of Mrs. Roberson, was formerly postmaster at Grimes, where he also kept a store.
