All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ ROBINSON, JOSEPH EDGAR "EDGAR" (Elk City Daily News, Elk City, Beckham, Ok, 1 Nov 1989) EDGAR ROBINSON - Funeral services for Edgar Robinson are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Miller and Rev. Roy Rowlan officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home. Mr. Robinson was born Dec. 21, 1889 in Bosque County, Tex., and died Tuesday at his home at the age of 99. He came to Oklahoma with his parents from Texas when he was a young lad. He was married to Frankie Lee Sharrock on Sept. 25, 1919 at Stonewall. They made their first home in Binger. Then in 1920 they moved to Carter where he farmed and ranched, retiring in 1965. They then moved to Elk City and had made their home here since. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church. Edgar was a quiet and unassuming individual. His favorite pastime was wolf hunting. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edgar Robinson, of the Elk City home; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Jameson of Midwest City and Mrs. Joe Anna Harris of San Antonio, Tex.; one son, Joseph Edgar Robinson of Algiers, Africa, and seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
