ROGERS, SALLY VIRGINIA
(15 Dec 1927, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Sally Virginia Crosley was born May 21, 1852, departed this life, December
5, 1927, aged seventy-five years, six months, fifteen days.  At the age of
twenty-four she was married to A. M. Rogers at Atlanta, Ga.  To this union
was born ten children.  On December 20th, 1906, they moved here for the
past twenty-three years.  Mrs. Rogers is preceeded in death by her husband
and one child.  She leaves to mourn her departure, four sons, Luther,
Emmett, Perry, Henry; five daughters, Mrs. Nora Coffee, Mrs. Maggie
Coffee, Mrs. Blanche Shelton, Mrs. Georgia Choate, Mrs. Rena Rhoulson,
other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Rogers died after a short illness at the home of her son, Henry
Rogers, where she had gone for a short visit.  Services were conducted by
the minister of the Baptist church at Vernon, Texas, to which faith she
adhered.  Interment was made in the Calvary Cemetery of Vernon, Texas.
The spirit of our little mother returned, after a short illness, Monday,
December 5, 1927, at 8:30 to the God who gave it.  It was so thoughtful
and kind of the friends at Elk City to phone messages of sympathy and to
wire the beautiful flowers that were silent tribute to the departed ones,
who were left behind.  And to these good people of Vernon, Texas, who were
so kind and helpful to her and us, we shall always feel grateful to you.
