R. Rone were shocked beyond measure Friday morning when word was received that Dr. Rone had died very suddenly at his home in Hammon. Heart failure was given as the cause of his death. He was about the house as usual when Mrs. Rone was attracted by a peculiar sound and hurried to him to find him dying. Dr. Rone practiced medicine here for many years, removing to Hammon possibly a year ago where he opened a hospital. He was known as a competent physician and upright citizen, and his sudden passing is mourned by the many who have known and respected him in all these years. Dr. Rone was born June 28, 1864, in Bowling Green, Ohio, being 63 years, 5 months and 14 days old at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Minnie Taylor on December 10th, 1890. To this union five children were born; three girls and two boys, Mrs. A. C. Taylor at Sentinel, Oklahoma; Mrs. Francis Totten of Beattie, Kansas; Mrs. Rex Allaman of Forsythe, Mo.; James Guthrie Rone of Pasadena, Calif., and K. R. Rone, Jr., of Oklahoma City. These, his faithful wife and a brother, J. B. Rone of Oklahoma City, are left to mourn his passing. Funeral services were conducted from the Broadway Methodist church Friday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. C. Webb, and interment was made in Fairlawn cemetery with Gentry-Killough in charge. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
