All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ ROWLAN, ETTA FAYE (24 Apr 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): ROWLAN FUNERAL HELD IN CANUTE Funeral services for Etta Faye Rowlan, seven-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Rowlan who have lived four (miles) northwest of Canute for the past 17 years, were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Rowlan residence. Rev. L. D. Hawkins, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church in Canute, officiated. Miss Rowlan died suddenly Wednesday evening from a heart attack. She had recently recovered from smallpox and had returned to school Monday. However, she did not attend school Tuesday. She attended the Hagar school and was in the second grade. Besides the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rowlan, there are two brothers and two sisters surviving. Interment was made in the Canute cemetery (Washita County).
