ARTHUR A. RUSSELL Mrs. Arthur Russell died at her home a few miles north of Elk City, on last Thursday, March 27th, from the effects of mastoid abcess which followed the flu. She was one of the first victims of the influenza, and while she did not recover fully, her condition was not thought to be serious until a short time before her death. Funeral services were held at the home, on Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Coffey, and interment made at Fairlawn cemetery. A large number of friends and neighbors were present, showing the respect in which she was held by all. Luella Medley Russell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Medley, was born in Cleburn, Johnson county, Texas, November 8th, 1882, and was 37 years, 5 months and 19 days old. She moved with her parents to Velma, Okla., in 1889. When thirteen years of age she was converted and united with the Baptist church. Four years ago, she with her husband and three children, were united to the Christian Church, later with another child, uniting with the Christian Union church in their neighborhood. She was married to Arthur A. Russell when sixteen years old, in 1897. To this union was born nine children, one Harold, dying at the age of eight years, the other children still living at home. The baby was only three months old. Besides the husband and children, she leaves two brothers, Bill and Bud Medley, and one sister, Mrs. Mollie Luper, who reside in Elk City, and a sister, Mrs. Clara Glidewell, who lives at Burkburnett, Texas.
