He was one of twin boys. His surviving twin brother is Claud. Clyde was taken sick with appendicitis about three weeks before his death which occurred on April 26, 1921, and his body was laid to rest the evening of the same day in the Strong City cemetery at Strong City, Oklahoma (Roger Mills County). During his sickness everything was done by relatives, friends and able physicians to bring about his recovery, but without success. His oldest brother, Lloyd, father, mother and his aunt, Mrs. Vincent were especially attentive at his bedside. Clyde was one of the best boys the writer ever knew. He at one time attended my school for a term. He at the time of his death was a High School student in the Strong City school. He was very patient, loving and appreciative during his last illness and when it was determined that an operation was necessary he told his loved ones that he was not afraid. He leaves a father, mother, four brothers, one sister and many other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. To all these loved ones we would say that Clyde has only gone before and will be waiting for us on the blissful shore. A Friend. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
