(28 Sep 1916, Thursday, Elk City Leader & Southwest News, Elk City,
Beckham Co, OK):
GEO. F. SCOTT DIED THURSDAY IN LINCOLN, NEB.
Brother of John G. Scott of This City Died After Very Brief Illness.
George F. Scott, brother of John G. Scott of this city, died at his home
in Lincoln, Nebraska, at 11:30 o'clock last Thursday night, after an
illness of only a few minutes of heart disease.  A telegram announcing his
death was received here Friday morning and John Scott left Friday
afternoon for Lincoln to attend the funeral services.
Mr. Scott had visited in this city on several occasions and was well known
to many of our citizens who will learn with regret of his death.  He had
been interested in Oklahoma for some time and owned considerable real
estate in the state.  He was believed to be in a good health and his
sudden death came as a shock to his relatives.
