He was taken sick with appendicitis and all was done for him that could be done but he was not able to undergo an operation. He was a good boy and everyone thought lots of Hershel. A large crowd attended the funeral and there were several nice flowers. The Sandridge school closed to attend the funeral. His funeral was preached by Rawleigh Reed at the Merritt church on Wednesday and was buried at the Merritt cemetery beside a sister who preceded him a few years ago. Several songs were sung by the choir and one special song was sung which was "Part No Never." He leaves to mourn his passing away a dear mother and father, two sisters and two brothers; Nellie, Louis (sic), Virgil and Chester, and grandparents and other relatives and friends. The entire community extends sympathy to the bereaved ones in this their sad hour. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank all the friends and neighbors and Merritt Church for their kindness and sympathy in our time of sorrow at the death of our son Hershel.
