F. W. SIMPSON DIES OF LOCKJAW. Mrs. F. W. Simpson of this city suddenly became very sick the middle of last week and soon developed lockjaw from which she never recovered. She grew worse gradually and was taken to the Elk City hospital Friday evening where she died early Saturday morning. The remains were shipped to Peru, Indiana, the home of Mrs. Simpson's mother, for burial. Mrs. Simpson had been a resident of our city about two years and had built up a friendship among our people. She was a member of the Baptist church and a member of the local Rebekah lodge. She leaves her husband and two little girls to mourn her loss. Mr. Simpson has the sympathy of the entire town in his bereavement. (13 Oct 1921, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. F. W. Simpson of Cheyenne, died here in the local hospital from tetanus last Saturday, and was shipped by Grubitz & Son to her mother's home in Perue (sic), Indiana, Monday.
