SLATE, MINNETTE JEAN
(24 Mar 1921, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
BABY SLATE DEAD
It was with deep sorrow the friends of Mr. and Mrs. E. Slate learned that
the little babe, Minnette Jean, who arrived at their home Saturday March
12th, passed away last Saturday, March 19th.
While her stay was brief, yet she was loved devotedly by her parents and
sisters, Pearl and Lillian.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday morning when the little body
was taken to Hobart (Kiowa County) to be laid in the family lot in the
cemetery beside a little brother.  Mr. and Mrs. Comstock, Mr. Slate and
daughters, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Rodabaugh, parents of Mrs. Slate and Mrs.
Laura Rodabaugh of Hobart, who had been called here, accompanied the
remains to Hobart.
Beautiful flowers were sent by the church board of the M. E. Church South
and Mr. and Mrs. Oaks of Mangum covered the grave with lovely white roses,
carnations and sweet peas.  Many other flowers were sent by friends. 
About fifty friends at Hobart were present for the interment.
