SMALLWOOD, P. C.
(12 Aug 1920, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
SUDDEN DEATH OF DR. SMALLWOOD.
Dr. Smallwood of Canute, went to his room on Tuesday evening and in a
short time afterwards was found dead.  He and his wife had been sitting on
the porch and he went to bed before she did.  She heard him cough after he
had gone to the bedroom.  When she was ready to retire she thought
something was wrong with him, and on investigation found he had passed
away.  No doubt his death was caused from heart trouble.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at Canute (Washita County),
Grubitz & Son having charge of interment and taking over their motor
hearse.
Dr. Smallwood was 71 years, 6 months and 22 days old.  He leaves a wife,
two sons and two daughters.  He was a brother of the late W. L. Smallwood;
also of Jonse Smallwood of this city.
