"Tis Life Beyond" I watched a sail until it dropped from sight over the bounding sea, a gleam of light, a last far flashed farewell, and like a thought slipt out of mind it vanished and was not. Without warning death plucked a flower from our garden on November 12, 1975. Our Brother, Freddie L. SMITH was called from his earthly home. He was born July 3, 1921 in Cooper, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe SMITH. He grew up in Elk City, where his early life was spent. He entered the armed forces in 1942 and after his discharge he moved to Oklahoma City, where he was employed. He leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Paul K. WILCOTS, Oklahoma City, and Lonnie SMITH, Los Angeles, California, a daughter, Mrs. Clovella ANDERSON, Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Ola Mae GRAVES, and Mrs. Clovella DERRICKS, both of Elk City; two brothers, Henry A. SMITH and S. L. SMITH, both of Elk City, a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren and friends. Also three step-children Dian, Gail and Tommy NEWBERRY.
