All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ SMITH, EDITH BELLE (Elk City Daily News, Elk City, Beckham Co, Ok, 26 Dec 2000) Edith Belle Smith Services for Edith Belle Smith, a resident of Sayre will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Sayre First Baptist Church officiated by Tom Cooksey and A. L. Swagerty. Burial will be at Delhi Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Edith was born July 21, 1910 in Doxey to Grace Belle (Hammon) and Wary Reyburn. She died Saturday in Sayre at the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 90. Edith attended school at Prairie View. She was married to Carrol Smith at Erick on February 12, 1927. They lived in the Delhi and Sayre communities where they farmed. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Edith worked at Anthony's for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband, Carrol of the home; four daughters, Louella Everett of Hollis; Cellia Mae Smith of Erick; Eloise Kamphaus of Elk City; Phyllis Swagerty and husband A. L. of Fletcher; one son, Freddie Joe Smith and wife Carolyn of Bedford; three sisters, Margarette Bickerstaff of Red Oaks, Texas; Nadine Carlise of Mercede, California; Riva Copp of Knnick, Washington; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and a number of family and friends.
