CORA MOORE SMITH The following obituary is from the Cordell Beacon. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of Rev. H. O. Moore, former pastor of Elk City: Obituary Mrs. Cora Dashell Moore Smith, wife of Earl Smith, who died at her home northwest of Hobart Monday, July 11, was born March 8, 1896, at London, Laurel county, Kentucky, and moved with her parents to Okla. in April 1903, with whom she resided through an itinerant ministry and during the pastorate of her father at Granite (Greer County). She married Earl Smith of Granite on Nov. 9, 1913, and spent the remainder of her life in Granite and on a farm northwest of Hobart. She was baptised by Rev. John R. Peeples of the M. E. Church, South in infancy and has never been outside of the church. Last fall she was received into the St. Paul church and was one of the most dependable members - always kind, generous and Godly, and ready to help in every undertaking. She received her education in the common schools and college course at the Southwestern Presbyterian school. Her mother died in Franklin, Tenn., March 3, 1901; also a little brother, one year old - both of whom await her on the other side of the River. She leaves to mourn her untimely death a faithful husband, father, Rev. H. O. Moore of Sayre, a step mother, five brothers and three sisters, besides the immediate family of Brother Earl Smith, whose father, mother and brother loved her as a daughter and sister. There are many other relatives and friends all of whom are grief stricken and mourn her death. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Granite by Rev. Don H. Lagrone, at 2:30 p.m., July 12.
