Mr. Spencer had been suffering for some time with heart trouble and Tuesday evening complained to his wife of feeling bad and some time during the night he grew worse and got up. In the morning early the family missed him and upon making a search found him down in the cellar in a dying condition and he expired before the physicians arrived. The cause of the death is attributed to heart failure. Mr. Spencer has lived here for some time and last spring announced as a candidate for county assessor but later withdrew from the race and has been engaged as local manager for the Singer sewing machine company.
