D. Stevens Funeral services for Mrs. O. D. Stevens, who died Monday, February 12, at the home of her son, R. H. Stevens, were held at the Baptist church at Butler, Rev Ewing James conducting the services. Jane Fanning was born in Carrol county, Arkansas, in 1839 and died February 12, 1923. Her early life was spent in Missouri, Nebraska and Arkansas. She was married to O. D. Stevens in 1856 and at the opening of Oklahoma they came and here where the rest of their lives was spent. Fourteen children, seven of whom survive, were born to this union. Since her husband's death Grandma Stevens as she was known, had made her home with her son, R. H. Stevens. She was converted in early childhood and later united with the Baptist church. Grandma Stevens had been a patient sufferer since last September and was glad to answer her Saviors call. Those left to mourn her loss are George Stevens, Butler; Mrs. Mary Patton, Leedy; R. H. Stevens, Hammon; Mrs. Martha Begley, Elk City; Mrs. Lucretia Sodders, Hydro; Silas Stevens, Hammon and John Stevens and family of Elk City.
